Pelalawan – PT CAI Signs MoU with Pelalawan Regent and PT Pindad for CPO Plant Project
Pelalawan – PT Chita Agri Indonesia (PT CAI) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Regent of Pelalawan and PT Pindad in a ceremony witnessed by the Minister of Research and Technology (Menristek) and the Head of the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT). This MoU marks the launch of a Crude Palm Oil (CPO) processing plant project in the Pelalawan region.
This strategic collaboration involves palm oil farmers supported by the local government, with funding provided by the Revolving Fund Management Agency (LPDB) under the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. The project will utilize cutting-edge technology from PT Pindad, a state-owned enterprise (BUMN), with PERTAMINA acting as the offtaker for the CPO produced.
In his remarks, the Minister of Research and Technology expressed hope that the project would positively impact the local economy and contribute to the sustainable development of the palm oil industry in Pelalawan. He also emphasized the importance of synergy between technology and agriculture to improve efficiency and productivity.
The Head of BPPT added that the use of technology in this project would enhance both the quality and quantity of CPO production, while optimizing the utilization of local resources. He reaffirmed BPPT’s commitment to supporting innovation and the application of technology across various industrial sectors.
The Regent of Pelalawan welcomed the collaboration and extended his appreciation to all involved parties. He expressed hope that the project would improve the welfare of palm oil farmers in the region and create new job opportunities for the local community.
As the project implementer, PT CAI reaffirmed its commitment to fully supporting the development of a sustainable and environmentally friendly palm oil industry. The project is expected to not only increase CPO production but also deliver significant social and economic benefits to the people of Pelalawan.
With the signing of this MoU, the initial steps for the construction of the CPO processing plant in Pelalawan have officially begun. The project is anticipated to become a successful model of collaboration between the government, private sector, and state-owned enterprises in driving regional economic development and improving community livelihoods.
